...what happened...?
So I went to Lake Shasta this weekend with some friends for an OSU party. Hundreds of drunken students, ready to fuck each other in the bushes and in the water, on the beach and on the house boats. Kegs and beer bongs littered the area, and beer cans and used condoms were strewn about. Music blared out from every boat as police patrolled the area in case of the event of violence. It never stopped... only until 5 a.m. did the music and beer stop flowing, and that was due to boats leaving in the early light to avoid cleaning the island. In my drunkenness I found something that I had lost; the importance of true friends, of family, of the one you care about, and not running from it all. So I left and drove up to Ashland to find an old buddy of mine. It was so refreshing to see good friends. However the drunkenness never stops. *what happened?* I wake up with a pierced nose and a vague memory of the night before. But something was different in Ashland. There was an innocent joy of the night before. It wasn't a screaming mass of people waiting for sex and fights. It was about the music of life, the enjoyment of similar souls, and it was okay to wake up in the morning and face the night before. It wasn't empty. I feel less empty now. I feel renewed in my tiredness.
