A guy in one of the forums I read asked a question about people's favorite practitioners of Buddhism. One guy responded;
"Jesus was my favorite Buddhist.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 6:37-38"
Interesting. To those of you who follow the Christian faith, and those of you that do not, remember this one. It's good advice for everyone.

Hi, I just wanted to encourage you in your quest to find truth ... it is out there and if you earnestly seek it you will find it. Coming from a Christian perspective, I believe that Buddhism and most other philosophies have some levels of truth that ultimately point us to Truth. Western culture has tragically skewed Christianity throughout the centuries (and continuing into the present day) but I know there is something profound in what God offered through Christ. We just have to discover what it is that God wants to say rather than all the voices of church tradition around us. I personally find reading scripture in parallel English/Greek (with some Greek language reference books) useful for trying to get back to the original deal. Anyhow, I hope this encourages you in some way. We're all traveling down our own roads of questioning and seeking (myself included) but I am confident that honest searching will lead to truth.
I'm often encouraged by Thomas who did not believe Christ without a large dose of skepticism first. My experiences are similar to his!
Kristi, thanks for the kind words. However, please understand that I came from a Christian family, and I plainly don't agree with its principles. I am Buddhist because I do agree with the teachings. I did from the moment I started reading them. Now personally, I really don't care about what's been skewed, because it was all written by man, and I simply do not believe all of it. I'm not here to debate, and in fact, I'm sure you'll never read my response. So that said, I wish you well.
Hi Drew, I actually did come back! Thanks for your response and I wish you the best as you journey on.
